Meet Maverick. We found Maverick hanging from a tree branch by the side of the road, his face all bloody. It took about 15 minutes for us to get him calm enough that we could even get near him to release him from the rope that would have eventually hung him. Upon examining him, we saw that he must have been badly beaten in the face, and he was missing some of his teeth. It took some time for Maverick to learn to trust, after the horrible life he must have experienced before we found him, but he has grown into a wonderful little boy, sweet as could be. He is a shy, kindred spirit, but he sure does love to talk to his Daddy. He also has a permanent place wrapped up in his Daddy's arms every night at bedtime. We are so blessed to have Maverick as part of our family.
